Temperatures are likely to drop significantly around the country in the coming days due to wind activity, going below 5C in the southern areas, the Qatar Met department has said.
In a statement on Twitter on Sunday, the Met department also clarified that there was no forecast for heavy rain in the country.
“The Qatar Meteorology Department would like to clarify that there is no forecast of heavy rain over the county in the short range, and that long range forecasts are known to be inaccurate most of the time,” the department said, urging people to always obtain weather-related information from official sources only.
Meanwhile, strong winds are expected in some places in the early hours of Monday. Windy conditions and high seas are also likely in offshore areas.
The wind speed (northwesterly) may go up to 22 knots in inshore areas and 35 knots offshore at first, while the sea level may rise to 15ft.
The detailed forecast also says moderate temperature with some clouds and slight dust are expected inshore, and it will be cold by night.
Slightly dusty conditions are likely at times in offshore areas and it will also be partly cloudy.
The minimum temperature on Monday is likely to be 9C in Mesaieed and Wakrah, 10C in Abu Samra, 11C in Dukhan and Al Khor, and 13C in Doha and Ruwais. On Sunday, the minimum was 12C in Karana and 14C in Mesaieed, while in Doha it was 18C.
