The National Science Research Week started yesterday at the Qatar National Convention Centre and will last until Thursday.
The 10th National Student Research Exhibition takes place tomorrow with the participation of 210 innovative research projects for 459 students and includes 60 primary projects in addition to 150 preparatory and secondary projects.
The first day of the National Science Research Week, which was organised by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in co-ordination with the National Fund for Scientific Research, witnessed many events and workshops for supervisors and coordinators of scientific research and referees.
In addition, the finals of the Scratch programming language competition, as well as the finals of the third Qatar National Olympiad of Physics and Astronomy in addition to the scientific research projects for all stages, were held.
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education confirmed its keenness in this year to gather all activities related to scientific research in one event, the National Science Research Week, pointing out that the week will witness the establishment of many outstanding events, in addition to National Student Research Exhibition.
The ministry said that the number of winning projects to be announced on the closing day of the exhibition and honouring their owners is 42 projects among the projects participating in this year’s exhibition, for the primary, preparatory and secondary levels.
The activities aim at enhancing students’ scientific research skills, developing them and celebrating them, spreading the spirit of co-operation and competition among them and achieving excellence in scientific research. (QNA)
