QGBC opens registration for ‘No Paper Day Qatar’

Qatar Green Building Council (QGBC), a member of Qatar Foundation (QF),has opened registration for organisations in Qatar who wish to take partin its annual ‘No Paper Day Qatar’.The initiative, now in its sixth year, is part of QGBC’s ongoing effortsto help schools, companies and institutions find ways to reduce paperconsumption, engage the wider community in environment-friendlypractices and raise sustainability awareness.Meshal al-Shamari, director of QGBC, said: “We are delighted with thesuccess of this campaign over the past few years. It has encouragedcompanies and individuals to reduce their recyclable waste and celebrateQatar’s efforts to build a more sustainable future. We look forward tothe continuing participation of our existing partners and to bringingnew partners on board for this exciting and important work supportingthe environmental and social pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030.”As in previous years, companies and individuals taking part in ‘No PaperDay Qatar’ are encouraged to start saving and collecting recyclablewaste in the form of newspapers and magazines, office paper, cardboard,plastic bottles, plastic cups and jugs, and aluminium and steel cans.All collected recyclable waste should be dropped off at the QGBC Villaon April 8, 9 and 10.
