The British Council has announced the launch of an “innovative new approach” to Early Years English language learning.
‘Learning Time with Shaun & Timmy’ is a “groundbreaking collaboration” between British Council and Aardman, two of Britain’s “most trusted and respected organisations”.
“By combining the UK’s world-leading Early Years Foundation Stage methodology with the world-famous film and TV characters Shaun the Sheep and lamb of the flock Timmy, British Council has created a dynamic and enjoyable way for kids to learn English successfully,” British Council Qatar said in a statement.
The whole-learning experience is structured around “unique videos and purposeful play in a themed, stimulating and safe environment specially designed for four- and five-year olds”, the statement explains. At this age, young minds learn language and pronunciation naturally and learning English will set them up well for school and life.
‘Learning Time with Shaun & Timmy’ courses will be available in Qatar for children aged 4-5 years from April. With these courses, children will be able to develop their listening skills, master pronunciation and enjoy learning English in a natural way, through stories, songs, movement, drama, and arts and crafts.
Dr Frank Fitzpatrick, country director of British Council Qatar, said: “At the British Council, we understand the unique way that every young minds learn and our new innovative course has been specifically designed with this in mind. Through play, kids will learn to act, take decisions, express themselves, interact, react and deliberate.”
With hopes that this new programme will bring a new learning experience to Qatar that will be of benefit to all students who join it, the British Council and Aardman are building on their innovative approach and developing more new products in 2018 to enable greater numbers of young children around the world to learn English in a fun and inspiring way, the statement adds.
With limited seats available, registrations for ‘Learning Time with Shaun & Timmy’ are now open for the upcoming launch. One can contact the British Council at 44251888 for more information.
