Qatar-US military relations reviewed

HEthe Chief of Staff of Qatar Armed Forces Major General (Pilot) Ghanimbin Shaheen al-Ghanim, who is visiting the United States, held separatemeetings with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General JosephFrancis Danford, Vice-Chief of Staff of the Air Force GeneralStephen Wilson, and Assistant Secretary of Defence for InternationalSecurity Affairs Robert Karem in Washington yesterday. The meetingsdiscussed relations between Qatar and the United States of America andmeans of strengthening and developing them in the defence and militaryfields, and a number of issues of mutual interest, especiallystrengthening efforts in the fight against terrorism and extremism. TheChief of Staff also met a number of officials in major US defencecompanies, thinkers and researchers from the Business Executives for National Security (BENS) and from US research centres.
