Msheireb Properties (MP), the leading real estate development company and a subsidiary of Qatar Foundation for Education, Sciences and Social Development, will participate in Cityscape Qatar 2018 to showcase its flagship development, Msheireb Downtown Doha (MDD).
MDD is the pioneering regeneration project in the Doha’s historical commercial centre, MP said in a statement. The pavilion will include access to MP’s masterplan of the project, detailed through three large-scale models highlighting MDD in all its splendour.
For the first time viewing for the public, one of the three models include a large-scale replica of Barahat Msheireb, MDD’s large open public square, boasting the largest retractable outdoor roof in the Middle East.
Two of the four hotels at MDD will be present at the pavilion, highlighting their upcoming hospitality offerings: the internationally acclaimed hotels, Al Wadi Hotel Doha by MGallery and the Mandarin Oriental.
Novo cinemas will also be present in MP’s booth, where a mini-cinema environment has been replicated. Visitors can view MDD’s latest fly-through video. MP’s participation at this year’s event is highly anticipated as new residential, retail and commercial offerings will be revealed, as well as additional hospitality prospects.
In addition, MDD’s first residential tower will be presented to prospective tenants and customers. It will offer its residents unparalleled views across the water to the West Bay with a mix of 1-4-bedroom apartments, featuring state-of-the-art smart home technology, in Qatar’s most upcoming desirable neighbourhood. “2018 is the year of activation for MDD. We are delighted to participate at Cityscape Qatar 2018 as it provides us with a platform to showcase the latest achievements of MDD. We are thrilled to announce to the public that residential, commercial, and retail leasing opportunities are available to discover now,” MP acting CEO Ali al-Kuwari said.
With a variety of residential, retail and commercial options available within MDD, MP will present investment opportunities to attract retailers and companies. MP will provide them with leasing and sales options that best suit the most luxurious fashion brands, cafes, restaurants and recreations that include kids zone, mall, amongst others. “The residential and commercial buildings, retail outlets and restaurants, hotels, the tram and other facilities are just getting the finishing touches to be ready to welcome our new tenants and visitors,” al-Kuwari said.
“We are proud to say we are accomplishing our goals and are on schedule for MDD. Upon completion, the city will redefine the style of living and working in Qatar and indeed, the region,” he added.
“Now the local and international community will be able to see first-hand our pioneering smart city initiatives set in MDD’s sustainable urban development,” al-Kuwari pointed out.
On completion, MDD will be the world’s largest certified sustainable and smart downtown community with 100 mixed-use buildings, 800 residential units, more than 300 retail units and 17 commercial buildings.
MDD will also have four hotels, a school, three mosques, the Galleria Mall and many other retail stores set in a high street environment and the much-admired Msheireb Museums.
Mixing elements of traditional heritage with the latest smart city technology provides a unique experience to those that live in, work and visit MDD, reviving the historical commercial heart of Doha in line with Qatar’s National Vision 2030.
