Under the umbrella of Pre-University Education at Qatar Foundation, the Academic Bridge Programme’s (ABP) counselling team organised a university fair inviting 21 universities from around the world. Universities from places such as the US, Hong Kong, Germany and Switzerland, offering different majors, visited the LAS building in Education City (ABP-EC) to meet with perspective students and inform them about the educational opportunities they provide. The event held on the ABP-EC campus was open to the public, apart from ABP students, school counsellors, high school students and their parents. Jacqueline Nottingham, ABP counsellor, said: “Students should learn about universities all over the world. It’s not only about location, but also about the best ‘fit’ for their comfort level, study methods and lifestyle choices. Majors of study, programmes and career discovery are just a small part of opening up the next phase of exploration for students to learn and grow.”The Academic Bridge Program organises many university fairs yearly to ensure that students studying at the ABP are never short of options and educational opportunities, according to a press statement. The All-Qatar University Fair was held on January 16 and was also open to the public. In addition, students at the ABP constantly take advantage of university fairs and visits organised specifically for them.
