QCS launches initiative for cancer patients

The QCS initiative carried out in collaboration with Aura Entertainment Services and Palma Group.
Qatar Cancer Society (QCS) has launched periodic visits to cancer patients at the  National Center for Cancer Care and Research in collaboration with Aura Entertainment Services and Palma Group. The initiative aims to provide psychological and social support for cancer patients and provide positive impact to treatment.Omar al-Twaissi, sponsorship and marketing at QCS, said: “This initiative emphasises the charity’s keenness to play its role both psychologically and physically.”He pointed out that the visits emphasise the importance of psychological support for this group and help them overcome the stage of treatment with great patience and determination. “These visits aim to raise the community’s awareness of cancer and remove the fear and shame associated with it to emphasise that like any other disease, cancer can be cured,” he added.He thanked Aura Entertainment Services and Palma Group for the gesture and hoped that more partnerships with all State institutions will contribute to the deployment of community awareness of cancer and ways to prevent it.”Nabil Barakat, managing director at Aura Entertainment Services, said: “We understand the impact cancer can have on a patient and on family life. For this reason, we partnered with Qatar Cancer Society to support patients and their families by bringing a smile to their faces and providing them with hope and encouragement to cope with cancer.”Dr Tahani Saker, CEO of Palma Group, emphasised the importance of such events and campaigns in helping children resist disease and defeat it. “I thank all those who are working to support such activities in every available way and for their participation in all events for cancer patients and awareness events.”
