The US embassy in Qatar has announced the arrival of William Grant in Doha to take over as the new chargé d’affaires.
Grant, who had served as the US chargé d’affaires from July to November 2017, has returned to Doha to replace Ryan Gliha as the US embassy’s chief diplomat, the mission said in a statement.
"Former chargé d’affaires Gliha has departed the US embassy in Qatar, concluding his three-year diplomatic assignment to Qatar," the statement noted.
Grant is a career diplomat with extensive experience in the region. "The US embassy welcomes the return of Grant, who is looking forward to once again serving in Doha and maintaining the United States’ close ties to Qatar and its people," the embassy added.
