HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah, who is currently visiting Greece, has met the country's Minister of National Defence Panos Kammenos.
Discussions during the meeting dealt with a number of issues of mutual interest as well as ways to enhance bilateral relations in the defence sector, besides exchange of training and expertise.
The meeting also discussed the latest developments in the region, particularly the Gulf crisis, the crisis in Syria and developments in Libya, in addition to the Palestinian issue, and a number of regional and international issues of common interest.
The meeting was attended by the ambassador of Qatar to Greece Abdulaziz bin Ali al-Nama'a, and Brigadier
General Hazza Nasser al-Shahwani, Director of Operations and Training at Qatar's Amiri Air Forces.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs also paid a visit to the areas affected by the fires that broke out in Greece.
During the visit, HE Dr al-Attiyah was briefed on the effects of the fires on a number of areas, which claimed the lives of a large number of local residents, in addition to destroying the infrastructure of those areas.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs conveyed the condolences of the government and the people of Qatar to the government and people of Greece.
Minister of National Defence of Greece Panos Kammenos accompanied Dr al-Attiyah during the visit.
