Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has celebrated the World Humanitarian Day, which falls on 19 August each year. On the occasion, the Corporation organised a field visit to the workers' sites at the Doha Metro Power Station.
Kahramaa said that the celebration of World Humanitarian Day for the second year in a row reflects its keen interest in humanitarian issues.
Kahramaa said in a press release that this visit comes in recognition of the important role played by those workers in its projects to achieve the strategic objectives of the institution, and the importance of humanitarian work in the rise of societies.
The General Electricity and Water Corporation also pointed out that this visit seeks to spread the culture of volunteering and the concept of giving in the humanitarian field, in recognition of the efforts of the its staff in delivering the message of the World Humanitarian Day. A number of Kahramaa employees volunteered to visit the workers at the work sites with the aim of honouring them and expressing their gratitude to them.
Kahramaa also affirmed continuing the support of humanitarian initiatives, commitment, community responsibilities and to raising awareness among community members and volunteers about the importance of the country's precious resources.
