Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), in collaboration with World Health Organisation (WHO), organised a workshop and simulation exercise on influenza. The objective was to review and update the national pandemic influenza plan, assess roles and responsibilities, understand national preparedness needs and ensure the participation of all health sectors in the plan according to best practices and WHO guidelines. 

The workshop was attended by 60 stakeholders and representatives from governmental and private health sectors in Qatar: Ministry of Public Health, Primary Health Care Corporation, Hamad Medical Corporation, Sidra Medicine, Qatar Petroleum, Qatar Red Crescent, Animal Health Department from the Ministry of Municipalities & Environment, Hamad International Airport and Qatar Airways as well as the private sector. 
The workshop was conducted by Dr Tamara Curtin Niemi visiting consultant from WHO and the working group of Health Protection and Communicable Diseases Control at MoPH.

Three scenarios and simulation exercises have been done on the hypothesis of cases of emerging viruses or outbreaks and pandemics and how to deal with them and to ensure participation and awareness and proper response of stakeholders and national focal points from all health sectors and specifically to ensure readiness for FIFA 2022.
