As part of the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club’s (QREC) efforts to enhance relations with leading organisations in Qatar, QREC has announced a new partnership with Qatar Airways.
Under this partnership, the national carrier will be associated with the annual race meetings and events sponsored by QREC overseas, including the Qatar Goodwood Festival in the UK and the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe in France.
The list of events also includes the Salon du Cheval d’Eljadida in Morocco.
The QREC will be the Platinum Sponsor of the 2018 edition, which is to be held in
October.
“We are delighted with the partnership with Qatar Airways, one of the world’s top airlines,” said QREC chairman Issa bin Mohamed al-Mohannadi.
“As a matter of fact, the ongoing co-operation between QREC and Qatar Airways in sponsoring horse race meetings will provide the requirements of successful racing events befitting the reputation of Qatar’s equestrian sport. Qatar Airways plays a significant role in the shipping activities for the QREC-sponsored events overseas.
“We have had experiences with Qatar Airways’ association with QREC, including the Qatar Goodwood Festival in the UK, particularly during the last two years. Such association has been key to the success of the Festival, which saw phenomenal turnout at one of the world’s most beautiful racecourses and historic homes for horseracing. The UK media hailed the resounding success of the event this year and described it as one of the largest race meetings in the world. This, in turn, adds to the partnership between QREC and Qatar Airways,” al-Mohannadi said.
