MES Indian School recently organised EDUFAIR (IGNITE 2018), a science and art exhibition. Over 500 exhibits in 4 different categories, including innovative working models and enquiry based projects in various subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering Graphics, Home Science, Commerce,  Hindi, Art and Guidance and Counselling were put up for the display. Two projects from each class were declared as the ‘Most Commented Exhibits’. Live demonstration of henna designing, cake designing, clay modelling, abacus-the counting frame, photography, sculpture designing, and portraits was also part of the event. The Department of Arabic, Urdu and Islamic Studies also showcased the wide and rich cultural heritage of Qatar along with the contribution of Arabs to science. The Egyptian Pyramid, The Court of Akbar by the Department of Social Science and ‘Thattukkada’ by the Department of Malayalam were also part of the exhibition.
Ria Elsa George, Head Girl of MES welcomed the gathering. Dr Mohamud Verjee, Assistant Dean of Medical Student Affairs and Associate Professor of Family Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar, was the chief guest at the event. He inaugurated the exhibition in the presence of the members of school governing board and other dignitaries. He urged the young students to follow their passion and nurture inquisitiveness and scientific bent of mind for the benefit of the society.
Congratulating the students, Hameeda Kadar, Principal of MES, said that MES has always been in the forefront in providing an adequate platform for students to apply and explore themselves the concepts they learnt in lessons in the form of innovative projects.
The members of the school governing board who attended the exhibition, included B M Sidhique, President; P K Mohamed, General Secretary; Kashif Jaleel, Director Academics; Hazmal Ismail, Secretary of Governing Board; Khaleel AP, Director of Cultural and Co-Curricular Activities; K P Abdul Azeez, Director of New Building Project and Maintenance.
