Doha Modern Indian School recently organised a motivational session ‘Watch Out – You are in Control’ for the students of Grade X and XII.
The resource person, Dr Rajeev Thomas, Head of Business Planning at Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, spoke on the occasion. The event was co-powered by Mission20 Knowledge, the pioneering Qatar based youth organisation with an international impact, under the teamwork of Amanat Solanki.
The session featured psycho-educational videos and interactive presentation to equip students to fave real life challenges. The students were briefed for how they are responsible for shaping the future and that they have the power to change and make it better. Rajeeb conveyed the message that students are the masters, and in control in today’s time.
This session also touched upon the key issues facing youth today, including changing demand on education to meet the needs of the future workforce, influx of artificial intelligence and virtual reality, fake media and their influence on the mind and some of the environmental and social disasters waiting to happen. Students were also briefed about the opportunities that are around them.
The session kicked off with an address by Vinod Kumar Bhatia, Principal of Doha Modern Indian School. He emphasised on the importance of motivation and value oriented life. He presented a memento imposed with school logo to the chief guest. Rahul Rajesh Nair, a student of Grade X and Assistant Head Boy, proposed a vote of thanks and Sharon Ann Shibu, a student of Grade X and student council member, anchored the event.
Ursula Thomas, Head of Department of Social Science, facilitated the event. The event was co-ordinated by V S Unni Krishnan, Head of Counselling.
