35 Taliban militants killed in air strikes eastern Afghanistan
35 Taliban militants were killed and 17 others were wounded in a bombardment by the Afghan Air Force planes targeted the Movement's strongholds in parts of the eastern province of Ghazni.
The Afghan Military said in a statement on Sunday that the death of 35 gunmen was confirmed in addition to injury of 17 others, some of whom in a serious condition, when a fighter aircraft bombed Taliban hideouts in parts of Ghazni. Adding that the target areas were in Andaar, Geru, Deh Yak, Qarabagh and outside the provincial capital of Ghazni.
Taliban did not comment on this report.
Spokesman for Samangan police Munir Ahmad Rahimi, confirmed that the gunmen suspected of belonging to Taliban movement kidnapped 40 truck drivers in the region.
At least 37 militants were killed earlier in the day by a car bomb packed with explosives in the southern province of Kandahar.
Samangan province witnessed during the month of October the killing of 20 elements of the police forces, including a security commander, in an attack launched by militants of Taliban. (QNA)
