Sheikh Khalifa lauded the staging of the four-day exhibition, which was held for the second time outside Qatar, for its ability to attract thousands of visitors, especially major Omani investors.
He said the exhibition aims to promote Qatari industries and explore the needs of the Qatari market in new industries that meet local demand and supports Qatari industrial exports by encouraging Qatari businessmen and foreign investors to establish industrial projects in Qatar and take advantage of the incentives provided by the State to encourage investment in industrial sectors.
The Qatar Chamber official also praised the high turnout of attendees during the Qatar-Oman Business Forum held on the sidelines of ‘Made in Qatar’, saying the participation of hundreds of businessmen reflects the keen interest of Omani investors in the Qatari market.
“This affirms the strong desire of business sectors in both countries to strengthen their joint co-operation and work to increase trade exchange and investments in both sides,” Sheikh Khalifa stressed.
‘Made in Qatar’ is organised by Qatar Chamber, in co-operation with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Qatar Development Bank (QDB), is being held on a 10,000sq m area at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre with the participation of more than 200 Qatari companies representing five sectors.
Sheikh Khalifa thanked the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani, and also extended his appreciation and gratitude to HE the Minister of Commerce and Industry Ali bin Ahmed al-Kuwari and the president of the General Authority for Investment Promotion and Export Development in Oman, Yahia bin Saeed al-Jabri, who both inaugurated the expo.
He also thanked the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, led by its chairman Qais bin Mohammed al-Yousuf, and the organising committee headed by Qatar Chamber board member Rashid al-Kaabi, as well as all sponsors and participating companies.
According to Sheikh Khalifa, ‘Made in Qatar’ gained “great interest” from all business sectors in Oman. He also assured that the event is a “key platform” that contributed to the promotion of Qatari industries, reviewing joint cooperation between both sides in all industrial sectors.
He said the exhibition “was the culmination of the distinguished relations between the private sectors of both the countries, and reflects the true desire of business owners in both the countries to establish joint trade and investment alliances.”
“The exhibition offers a suitable platform to discuss these alliances and bring business owners closer to further trade and investment cooperation,” he emphasised.
