Bedaya Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (Bedaya Centre) has announced that it is participating, for the second time, in the Darb Al Saai festivities with Dukan Bedaya.
A total of 31 projects are being featured at Dukan Bedaya, the organisation has said in a statement.
The celebrations at Darb Al Saai are part of the many events that take place in the country to celebrate Qatar National Day.
Dukan incubates 30 local startup projects from diverse sectors, who are participating with their products related to the National Day celebrations with the aim of supporting local products. This is being done “to promote them to end users and focus on encouraging ambitious projects that will create a generation of entrepreneurs responsible for contributing to building a thriving national economy”, the statement notes.
This year, the centre has also introduced the Bedaya Café competition as the 31st project participating under the Dukan umbrella at Darb Al Saai. Several F&B projects competed with each other to win the single slot at Dukan related to this industry, and the winning project is Grind House.
Reem al-Suwaidi, general manager of Bedaya Centre, said: “Based on the success we had last year, we are taking part for the second time in Darb Al Saai with Dukan Bedaya. Last year, we witnessed huge demand for all the exhibits and got a positive reaction from visitors.
This year, there is an increase of 50% in the number of participating projects compared to 2017.
“We are always keen to take part in the Darb Al Saai celebrations to raise awareness of local projects and help Qatari youth establish and strengthen their projects. The Dukan initiative aims to support small and medium projects established by talented, ambitious and creative young Qataris by providing them the ideal platform to promote and showcase their products and goods in a strategic location at the heart of the most important event taking place in the country.”
Bedaya Centre is a joint initiative of Qatar Development Bank and Silatech.
