Ashghal will effect a partial diversion of traffic between Al Suwaidi and Mehairja intersections on Al Waab Street in two phases starting on Sunday (December 23) to enable the installation of new utilities.

The proposed change, designed in co-ordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, will remain in place for six months.

During the first phase, traffic from Muaither heading towards Al Sadd will be shifted from the main carriageway onto a parallel road with three lanes in each direction for a distance of 1km between Mehairja Intersection and Al Waab Intersection.

The second phase will start on December 31 when traffic from Al Sadd heading towards Muaither will be shifted from the main carriageway onto a parallel road with three lanes in each direction for a distance of 1km between Al Suwaidi and Al Waab intersections.

Ashghal will install road signs advising motorists of the traffic shift and request road users to abide by the speed limit which will be reduced to 50 kph along the route, and follow the road signs to ensure safety.
