Katara – the Cultural Village will hold a variety of entertainment and cultural events and activities, to promote Katara as a cultural and tourist destination for residents as well as tourists in Qatar.Katara presents ‘History in Colour’ exhibition by Kuwaiti artist Dr Eiman Tohma al-Shammari. The exhibition will kick off tomorrow and will run until January 14.In co-operation with the Algeria embassy, Katara opens the unique “Kingdom of Geometry” exhibition for visitors this Thursday at Building No 19.Algerian artist Mohammed Talhaoui reveals the undiscovered beauty of the Islamic art decoration in a unique way displaying the ornamental language in his artworks. Talhaoui says that the objective of this exhibition is to share with participants an amazing and unpublished discovery. “Here, before our eyes, through the geometrical ornamental art, the secrets of the universal laws are unfolded and expressed in a beautiful and perfect way,” he said.Talhaoui was attracted to this Patrimonial Legacy when early in his life he saw the relationship between science and the geometrical decorative art. “We hope through, over the years and through a collective awareness to interpret the mysteries of this priceless legacy,” he added.During the exhibition, Talhaoui will conduct two workshops for different age groups on Friday and Saturday in morning and evening times.Coffee lovers will enjoy the Kaffeinated 3 event presented by the Kaffeinated Festival in collaboration with Katara, starting from January 3 to 13 at the Katara Esplanade from 12pm to midnight.Nearly 70 exhibitors from various coffee shops in Qatar will display their different flavours of coffee, offering a variety of tastes to the public and seekers of authentic flavours. Kaffeinated will also present activities related to the preparation of coffee. Visitors will learn about different ways to make coffee through different techniques, including traditional methods, through machines.The previous editions of Kaffeinated have generated huge public interest and represent an ideal opportunity to discover the world of coffee with its varied tastes.
