QatarDebate Centre, a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Education and Community Development, starts Thursday the first European Championship of the Arabic-language debates in the Austrian capital of Vienna.
During the 3-day tournament 20 universities will be participating. They will be representing 15 European countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Kosovo, Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine, and the Czech Republic. 
The first day of the tournament will be allocated to providing training workshops for students and the arbitrators by the centre's instructors and ambassadors who will go over the most important criteria to be followed during the tournament.
Through this tournament, QatarDebate Centre seeks to spread the culture of positive dialogue and Arabic language among the speakers and to raise the level of discussion in both scientific and linguistic terms. The centre will honour the best two teams and best speakers at the event.
The jury staff will consists of 12 ambassadors of the centre. 
The centre's ambassadors Fahad al-Subaei and Ibrahim Qarkouri will train 20 arbitrators of the teams participating in the championship to prepare them and qualify them to participate in the fifth International Championship of university debates in the Arabic language which will be held in Doha.
