Tamu Society Qatar (TSQ) recently celebrated Loshar festival at Al Shamal Park. Loshar is a new year’s festival celebrated on the first day of the lunisolar Tibetan calendar. The event was chaired by Vai Kaji Gurun, President of TSQ. The guest of honours at the event included Narendra Bhatt, Bimal Subedi, Kamal Mani Guragahi, Binod Bhatterai, Sagar Limbu and Nagendra Pokheral. Around 500 people attended the event.
Various notable personalities of Nepali community, including Tou Maya Gurung, Kushi Gurung and Bil Gurung addressed the gathering. A cultural show featuring traditional wardrobes and dances was also a part of the event. Some 12 artistes, including 6 males and 6 females performed at the event. Artistes from Tamu Cultural Group also performed at the event. The performance featured traditional Tamu Selo dance.
