Secretary General of the League of Arab States Ahmed Aboul Gheit met on Saturday the UN envoy to Libya Ghassan Salame.

During the meeting, they discussed ways to resolve the Libyan crisis and help the Libyan people to reach a settlement leading to the completion of the constitutional and electoral entitlements that meets the aspirations of the Libyans.

Aboul Gheit affirmed the support of the Arab League for the UN Action Plan and the political process sponsored by the UN envoy to reach a Libyan-Libyan agreement to end the political division in the country and holding presidential and legislative elections on proper constitutional ground, that will satisfied all Libyans with the results of them.

The two sides agreed on the importance of continuing the efforts of building confidence between the Libyan parties and encouraging them to overcome their differences and agree on the steps, procedures and rules necessary to regulate the remaining benefits in accordance with the general framework of the Libyan political agreement signed in Skhirat. This will preserve the unity and integrity of the Libyan state, and ending its transition. (QNA)
