A view of the 'linear park'
The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME)'s Public Parks Department, in co-operation with the Public Works Authority (Ashghal), has completed a 'linear park' in the Al Hilal area of Doha, near The Mall and the headquarters of Qatar Charity and The Mall. The park is 1.5km long with 50m wide, and has a total space of 75,000sqm, the MME has said in a statement. The park marks "the launch of a new idea that involves making use of the space along the sides of roads and highways and converting them into green areas and environment-friendly spaces where people can enjoy walking", the statement notes.
