HSBC Qatar has announced the appointment of Omar al-Ansari as head of Retail Banking and Wealth Management in Qatar. He succeeds Adrian Quince who, after four years as head of RBWM, Qatar, has taken on another role in the regional HSBC Middle East office.Al-Ansari comes with over 12 years of HSBC experience working in a variety of roles in the bank’s commercial and retail banking business. He has a robust understanding of the local market and, in his most recent role as head of Distribution, Qatar, has led various initiatives to strengthen customer products and experience.HSBC Qatar CEO Abdul Hakeem Mostafawi said, “Omar has built extensive expertise in banking and financial services over the past 12 years with HSBC. With his intrinsic knowledge of the local banking market, and international banking experience with HSBC, he is a very valuable member of the senior management team in the country.”Al-Ansari started his career as a graduate trainee and has built experience in a number of different spheres. As part of his career development he had a stint at the HSBC Academy in London. Over the last four years in his position as the head of Distribution, he further deepened his understanding of the retail banking industry in the country. “I will continue to drive focus towards developing a unique service proposition to support our clients in Qatar.
