In a statement, the envoy explained that Tunisia is looking forward to receive His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, who has reaffirmed his constant keenness to attend Arab summits as part of his commitment to the issues of the Arab nation.
"I am sure that the views and reviews of HH the Amir will have great impact on enriching the topics of the upcoming summit and make it a success," said the ambassador.
Further, he expected that the visit of HH the Amir to Tunisia on the occasion to be an excellent opportunity for the leaderships of both countries to continue dialogue and talks on the issues of mutual co-operation and the regional and international issues of common interest. They will also maintain more co-ordination regarding their mutual stands and agreements at the various international and regional events and organisations.
HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani meeting with Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi at the Carthage Presidential Palace in Tunis on March 2 this year.
"Besides, the attendance of HH the Amir at Tunisia summit is considered another message to affirm the good status of Tunisia in his mind and consideration. It will be an addition to his visit to Tunisia in November 2016 on the occasion of the International Conference in support of economic, social and sustainable development in Tunisia (Tunisia 2020), which have considerably enhanced the bilateral relations between the two countries," stressed the ambassador.
Al-Salhi further expects that the upcoming visit would reflect positively on upgrading the relations between the two countries even to higher levels that suits the good potentials and capabilities of both of them. Earlier, the ambassador said that the volume of trade exchange between Qatar and Tunisia has been constantly rising, as it has doubled within the last two years, in addition to the mutual participation of both countries at the specialised intentional exhibitions held in both of them.

Qatar will be the guest of honour at the International Exhibition of Agriculture, Agricultural Machinery and Fisheries, Seamap 2019, which will be held in Tunis from September 24 to 29. He pointed out that Qatar has maintained its position as one of the most important investors in Tunisia, in addition to being one of the most important financial and economic partners. In the meantime, the technical co-operation between Qatar and Tunisia has seen considerable development in both volume and quality within the last five years, as the number of professional Tunisian workers in Qatar has increased considerably with the recent figure nearing around 27,000.
"Tunisian expatriates enjoy a very good life in Qatar and all the authorities concerned are very co-operative regarding their concerns," the envoy added.
