Milaha, Qatar’s leading maritime transport and logistics conglomerate, took part in the Government Procurement and Contracting Conference and Exhibition ‘Moushtarayat 2019’ for the fourth consecutive year.
The 4th edition of Moushtarayat provided a key platform for networking among big buyers and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Local SMEs were briefed on the procedures relating to existing public tenders extended by larger private sector companies, semi-governmental, and governmental bodies.
Over the three-day conference, Milaha showcased its range of business activities, world-class shipping fleet and services, while familiarising local SMEs with its procurement practices.
Commenting on Milaha’s participation in the event, president and CEO Abdulrahman Essa al-Mannai said: “Moushtarayat provides an excellent platform for Milaha to connect with local small and medium-sized suppliers as we expand our operations and pursue our development plans.”
Over the past few years, Milaha has revamped a number of its facilities and introduced unique services to support Qatar’s supply chain connectivity and ongoing development, with the inauguration of its Logistics City, a major investment that marked the company’s entry into cold chain solutions.
“By prioritising local suppliers and vendors when sourcing goods and services, we further contribute to bolstering Qatar’s private sector in line with our commitment to supporting the country’s development as per the National Vision 2030,” al-Mannai said.
In 2019, Milaha will kickstart plans to upgrade its shipyard facilities in preparation for further growth in current markets and expansion into new areas of operations.
