Mercedes-Benz has secured another achievement with the its SUVs receiving top awards at the Golden Steering Awards – Qatar 2019, organised by ‘Arab Motors Middle East’ and ‘X-Tork’.
The awards, dedicated to 4x4 and SUV vehicles, took place at the Al Enna camp in Sealine with the participation of several 4X4 and SUV vehicles from various brands in Qatar.
The Mercedes-Benz GLE received the Best Sport SUV Award while the Mercedes-Benz G500 received the Best Classic SUV Award.

The GLE 450 4MATIC comes with an output of 270kW (367hp) and torque of 500Nm, and masters all three disciplines - power, refinement and efficiency. To further reduce both fuel consumption and emissions, the engines are equipped with ECO technology packages, comprising measures that lower friction and flow losses, reduce component weights and improve on-demand system control.
The new G-Class continues the tradition of a vehicle built for the most extreme conditions. The G-Class feels different to the mainstream, particularly in places where other vehicles dare not tread. The G500 is unwavering, unrelenting and uncompromising. Equipped with a V8 biturbo engine, the new G500 is a beacon of strength from the outset. The offroader impresses with its immense output of 310kW (422hp) coupled with extremely low levels of noise and vibration as well as outstanding agility. The G500 accelerates from 0–100km/h in 5.9 seconds.
