QIB awards 110 ‘Misk’ account winners

Qatar Islamic Bank’s (QIB) award to more than 110 Misk account holders during the past 25 weeks witnessed weekly winners taking home QR10,000 and monthly winners receiving QR 50,000. There are 171 more savers to win the weekly prizes and one lucky winner who will be receiving the grand prize worth QR1mn.The two lucky winners for this month are Nasser al-Malki and Salah al-Mughalles.The draw was held in the presence of an official representative from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and QIB representatives.QIB’s digitalisation approach has allowed existing customers to open a Misk account through the award-winning QIB Mobile App.The app enables customers to get access to direct saving accounts by removing the hassle of a physical visit to a QIB branch.QIB Personal Banking Group general manager D Anand said: “I would like to congratulate all the winners up till the current day, and wish the rest of Misk account savers the best of luck on the coming draws. “Misk is a tailored Shariah-compliant savings account that rewards positive financial habits. At QIB, we recognise the importance of savings and we want to enlighten our customers and present them the benefits of saving for their future. I encourage all Misk account users to save more and increase their chances of being chosen as one of the lucky winners.”All citizens and residents of Qatar are eligible to open a Misk account for themselves and their children who have not reached legal age.A minimum of QR5,000 for new customers and QR2,000 for existing customers is required to open the account.Customers will need to maintain a minimum monthly balance of QR10,000 to be eligible for the weekly and monthly draws.To qualify for the grand prize draw, the customer must open the account three months prior to the final draw and maintain a minimum savings amount of QR10,000 during each of these months.Every additional QR10,000 earns the customer one more chance in the draw.When opening a Misk account, customers will also receive a free debit card, a free e-statement, and access to QIB’s new Mobile Banking App and the internet banking platform.
