The Entrepreneurship & Business Development track of the Specialised Master’s Degree at HEC Paris Qatar is equipping professionals with innovative thinking and entrepreneurship skills, according to an official of the university.

“The Specialised Master’s Degree in Strategic Business Unit Management is constantly enhanced and the Entrepreneurship and Business Development track to the programme is a proof of it. This track allows participants to further personalise their learning journey to suit their career goals and the needs of their organisation” said, Ammar Baig, specialised Master's Degree Programme adviser, HEC Paris Qatar.

“The 10-day track has been designed to develop the skills that are necessary to be successful in starting a business or developing an existing venture to let participants explore an entrepreneurial mindset and learn how to integrate innovative thinking. With the help of real life case studies, students will learn the tools that could enable them to make the right business decisions in today’s changing times,” explained Baig.

The official also said that the new Entrepreneurship and Business Development track can be taken separately as a 10-day executive certificate. “When choosing this certificate, professionals will learn how to understand entrepreneurial ventures holistically, such as business modelling, financing, creating an entrepreneurial culture, team building, and negotiation. They will not only be exposed to best practices but also apply them such that they can put them to work straight away in a variety of program settings,” he continued.

The official noted that the global marketplace is witnessing tremendous upheaval in its economy, requiring successful leaders to contend with stiff global competition, political turmoil and adverse financial effects.

“To be able to overcome these challenges, it is imperative that a leader is equipped with the right knowledge and skills to steer their business through these obstacles. In all programmes offered at HEC Paris in Qatar, we enable participants to share knowledge and leadership approaches with peers coming from diverse cultural, educational and professional backgrounds as well as world-class renowned faculty, researchers and guest speakers,” he elaborated.

HEC Paris has been a member of Qatar Foundation since 2010, providing executive education in Qatar and the region.

He also maintained that the programme will benefit not only the private sector but also the public sector that will have tremendous opportunities to grow from the learning achieved in class. A total of 34 participants were welcomed to the first cohort of the Specialised Master’s Degree in Strategic Business Unit Management class of 2020. The university is still open to accepting new candidates for the next intake in July 2019.
