It’s always a pleasure to visit one of the most happening places in Doha, which is the Souq Waqif. Therefore, we decided to pay a visit to the souq to see the cannon firing at the time of Iftar, during the holy month of Ramadan, which is a thrilling experience for everyone. So do visit at the evening time before Iftar to experience it with your family. The children, in particular, are more excited to see, touch, feel and sit on top of the cannon. People enjoy taking photos and selfies around the cannon.
Finally, minutes before the Iftar time, the audience are cleared from the cannon area by men in fatigues as they prepare to fire the cannon.
It’s a moment that lasts only about a second or so but you don’t want to miss it!
Iftar boxes are also distributed by organisations like Qatar Charity to the folks who have come to witness the traditional round.
