His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani met with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the fifth summit of Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), at Navruz Palace in Dushanbe Saturday.
The Chinese president thanked the Amir for his visit to China in January and described the tour as very successful and one that greatly contributed to promoting Qatari-Chinese relations. He expressed satisfaction over the deep bilateral relations, and underlined his readiness to work with the Amir to further enhance and develop them.
For his part, the Amir highlighted the importance of his visit to China early this year and its contribution to promoting Qatari-Chinese relations, describing it as strategic. The Amir underlined the mutual keenness - as indicated by the Chinese president - on developing the relations between the two countries in various fields.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the strategic partnership between the two friendly countries and the means for developing it in all fields, especially in economy, investment, energy and industry.
The Amir and the Chinese president also discussed the most important issues of mutual concern on the regional and international arenas.
Members of the official delegation accompanying the Amir and a number of ministers from the Chinese side attended the meeting.
