Suspected al-Shabaab fighters have attacked a police
camp in eastern Kenya, and three of them were killed as a result,
police said on Saturday.
No members of the police were killed or injured in the attack, which
took place in Fafi, near the border with Somalia, late Friday.
Security forces are now seeking the remaining attackers.
Al-Shabaab - a Somali-based group linked to al-Qaeda - launches
regular attacks in Kenya, and in 2013 killed 67 people at the
Westgate shopping mall in Nairobi.
Earlier this year, militants targeted an upmarket Nairobi hotel,
killing more than 20 people.
The United States is supporting Somalian forces as well as African
Union soldiers in the fight against the group, with frequent
airstrikes against its bases.
