At least 24 people were killed and 9 others were injured after Taliban militants launched an attack on a checkpoints of pro-government militias in Afghanistan's northern Baghlan province, authorities said Saturday.
Local officials said that Taliban militants attacked the checkpoints in Nahrin district of Baghlan on Friday night.
A senior official in Nahrin district confirmed that the Taliban militants killed 24 members of public uprising forces during the attack, Khamaa Press reported.
Taliban militants also wounded 9 other members of the public uprising forces, the official added.
