24 Killed in attack on checkpoints in northern Afghanistan

At least 24 people were killed and 9 others were injured after Taliban militants launched an attack on a checkpoints of pro-government militias in Afghanistan's northern Baghlan province, authorities said Saturday.Local officials said that Taliban militants attacked the checkpoints in Nahrin district of Baghlan on Friday night.A senior official in Nahrin district confirmed that the Taliban militants killed 24 members of public uprising forces during the attack, Khamaa Press reported.Taliban militants also wounded 9 other members of the public uprising forces, the official added.
