Samsung Gulf Electronics has announced the launch of the new Galaxy A80 in Qatar.
Dohatna Innovative Distribution, distributor of Samsung in Qatar, will make the new phone available at all major retailers in the market. Built for the “Era of Live”, the Galaxy A80 offers “meaningful innovations on a safe and secure platform: Samsung’s first rotating triple camera and the immersive New Infinity Display”, according to a press statement.
“Built for the way we communicate in the ‘Era of Live’, Samsung’s new Galaxy A80 is packed with powerful innovations that allow you to capture the world as you see it, enjoy immersive multimedia experiences and stay connected for longer,” said Tarek Sabbagh, head of the IT and Mobile (IM) division at Samsung Gulf Electronics. “The Galaxy A80 showcases a stylish design, large infinity display, enhanced triple camera, powerful battery and seamless connectivity, which make it the perfect device for today’s generation.”

In a first for Galaxy devices, the Galaxy A80 is equipped with Samsung’s “revolutionary rotating triple camera, which provides the same high-quality lens, front and rear, so one never has to compromise the vividness of videos and images”. “The rotating triple camera also lets you record footage continuously, whether it is shot on the front or back camera, so that your memories can be seen in one video,” the statement explains.
Whether one is hiking up the mountain during the day or enjoying street food at a night market, the Galaxy A80 allows the user to take clear and bright photographs regardless of day or night with its 48MP main camera. “Now, with the Ultra Wide Lens with a 123-degree viewing angle, one can be reassured knowing that you can easily photograph or capture and share a live video of everything you see.” the statement adds.
The Galaxy A80’s 3D Depth Camera allows users to capture subjects with more depth, letting them create movie-like clips of their favourite moments with features such as Live Focus Video mode. Additionally, Super Steady Video mode reduces bumps or shakes for pro-level action videos.
The Galaxy A80 features Samsung’s first New Infinity Display, an expansive, edge-to-edge, 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED screen. With a 20:9 display ratio, the New Infinity Display allows one to fully engage in their favourite multimedia content. Users can also take their audio-visual experience one step further with Dolby Atmos when using earphones or Bluetooth speakers.
As part of the Galaxy experience, the Galaxy A80 features Samsung Knox, Samsung’s defence-grade security platform designed to protect from chipset to software. In addition, Samsung Pass will allow one to securely and conveniently access apps and websites through a fingerprint sensor.
With Galaxy A80’s Intelligent Performance Enhancer, one can expect the Galaxy A80 to work harder, faster and longer whenever needed. Its AI-powered performance optimisation software maximises the device’s CPU, RAM and battery capacity, tailoring the Galaxy A80’s efficiency to one’s everyday needs, the statement adds.
The Galaxy A80 comes in three colours: Angel Gold, Ghost White and Phantom Black.
The Samsung Galaxy A80 is available across major retailers and Samsung brand shops in Qatar at QR2,349.
