The General Directorate of Passports completed more than 1.5mn transactions in June, the monthly statistics of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) showed.
The figures “reflect the remarkable efforts made by the MoI and its quick delivery of services to the public through the application of the best standards”, the official Qatar News Agency reported.
According to the data issued yesterday, the General Directorate of Passports completed 1,556,867 transactions last month. These included 1,188,034 transactions at the Airport Passports Department, 212,763 transactions at the Unified Services Department, 61,432 transactions at the Expatriates Affairs Department, 47,948 transactions at the Support Services Department, 42,922 transactions at the Search and Follow-up Department and 3,768 transactions at the Border Passports Department.
At the level of services centres, the Al Rayyan Services Centre was first with 41,436 transactions completed in June (19.5%), followed by Al Wakrah with 26,025 transactions (12.2%), Mesaimeer with 24,233 transactions (11.4%) and others.
In terms of transactions performed through electronic services, the directorate completed 186,862 transactions, 104,136 of which were through the MoI website, 82,439 via the Metrash2 application and 287 through e-government.
Also, the total number of transactions for traffic and fingerprinting services stood at 27,667 in June. Of these, 21,035, pertained to traffic services and 6,632 to fingerprinting services.
The number of transactions carried out for elderly persons and people with special needs amounted to 718 in June. Also, 1,270 transactions were completed for pensioners and people with special needs without any fees.
