First day of Eid sees 1440 medical emergency cases reported

A total of 680 emergency cases were reported at Hamad Medical Corporation’s ( HMC) hospitals Sunday, the first day of Eid al-Adha. The paediatric emergency centres reported another 760.
The Emergency Department at Hamad General Hospital received 450 cases, including 111 female patients. Most were simple or mild illnesses and were sent home after initial treatment. There were 26 admissions and two critical cases who were admitted at the ICU.At Al Wakra Hospital, there were 230 emergency cases, including 80 female patients. No critical cases were reported at the hospital.There were a total of 760 paediatric emergency cases across the paediatric emergency centers under HMC. Al Sadd Emergency Centre had 400 cases, Al Rayyan Centre 231 cases, Airport Centre 83 cases, Al Dhaayan 38 cases and Al Shamal had eight. About 95 ambulances were deployed at various locations of the country to meet any emergency. In addition to Doha, the ambulances were stationed at places including Al Wakrah, Souq Waqif, Katara, Sealine Beach and Simaisma Beach. A total of 260 cases were reported to the ambulance services, including four car accidents. Two incidents at Industrial Area and Al Khor were covered by helicopter ambulance.
