'Summer in Qatar' success shows commitment to sustainable tourism

With the collaboration of over 30 public and private sector partners in hospitality, retail, and entertainment, the ‘Summer in Qatar’ has demonstrated the commitment across sectors to further evolve to build a sustainable tourism sector, an official of the Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC) has said.
“Eid is a time for celebrating with family and friends. We at QNTC are pleased to bring people together for the holiday as we wind down our largest summer programme,” chief marketing officer Rashed al-Qurese said. Mashal Shahbik from QNTC added: “This Eid marks the end of our biggest ‘Summer in Qatar’ programme, and we are thrilled to see so many people enjoying the activities on offer, especially the wide array of indoor entertainment events. “The collaboration with partners across a range of entities is part of a wider strategy to diversify Qatar’s tourism offerings and develop year-round options for visitors and residents of all cultures and ages.”Qatar’s first-ever indoor snow theme park, Snow Dunes, opened its doors to visitors on the second day of Eid at Doha Festival City (DHFC). Spread over more than 9,500sqm, the park offers a variety of rides and attractions suitable for the whole family, as well as food and beverages outlets, retail store, and party rooms. There are Silver, Gold, and Platinum packages for individuals priced at QR190, QR240, and QR490, as well as VIP rooms and party packages. Snow Dunes is the third indoor theme park operated by Trimoo Parks at DHFC after The Angry Birds World and Virtuocity.In addition to unique shows and roaming activities, shoppers can still participate in the last raffle draw of the season and get a chance to win cash prizes worth a total of QR400,000 and a McLaren Spider 570S for the grand prize.Residents and visitors continue to enjoy the last week of ‘Summer in Qatar’, which is packed with exciting entertainment events for all. A Kuwaiti play ‘Khutuat Al Shaytan’ is showing at Qatar National Theatre until August 17. Blue Man Group will entertain with their novel visual arts performance from today until August 17. Doha Comedy Festival will return with Omid Djalili, Nemr Abou Nassar, and Hamad al-Amari tomorrow, while Kadim al-Saher will charm fans on August 16 and 17. The ‘8th South Indian International Movie Awards’ will showcase the industry’s best work on August 15 and 16. Visitors and residents can also continue to benefit from enticing hospitality deals until August 16.
