Qatar participated in the 152nd ordinary session of the Council of the Arab League at the level of Permanent Delegates, which started Sunday at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League.
Qatar’s Permanent Representative to the Arab League, ambassador Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz al-Sahlawi, headed Qatar's delegation to the preparatory session for the meeting of Arab foreign ministers scheduled for Monday.
The agenda of this session includes several topics, including the Palestinian issue and the Arab-Israeli conflict, supporting the Palestine budget and the steadfastness of the Palestinian people, the report and recommendations of the Conference of Supervisors of Palestinian Affairs in the Arab host countries at its 102nd session.
It will also review a report on the work of the main office and the regional office on the boycott of the Israeli entity, and another topic on Arab water security and theft of water by the Israeli entity in the occupied Arab territories and the occupied Syrian Arab Golan.
The agenda also includes items on solidarity with Lebanon, developments in Syria, Libya, and Yemen, the security of navigation and energy supplies in the Persian Gulf, the dangers of Israeli armaments to Arab security and international peace, and the establishment of a nuclear weapon-free zone.
Topics such as Arab relations with international and regional groupings, supporting internally displaced persons in Arab countries and Iraq in particular, international terrorism and ways to combat it, maintaining Arab national security, and developing the Arab anti-terrorism system will also be discussed.
