Al Ahli Hospital is a sponsoring partner of this year’s Qatar Patient Safety Week (QPSW), it was announced yesterday. The 5th QPSW, is a national initiative created by the Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety Department (HQPS) of the Ministry of Public Health in collaboration with public and private healthcare providers from across Qatar.
 Khalid al-Emadi, CEO of Al Ahli Hospital said the hospital is eager to adopt, implement and promote international standards for patient safety and provide the highest quality of health care for patients. “Voluntarily participating in International Healthcare Accreditation and enhancing education and professional development for all of our team motivates and enables us to strive for excellence in everything we do,” he stated.
Jamal Hammad, deputy CEO of Al Ahli Hospital said, “Healthcare is a complex and highly technical industry, excellence in clinical outcomes and enhancing the patient experience is at the core of our being at Al Ahli Hospital. “Maintaining full international healthcare accreditation since early 2014 under the auspices of the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards International is one way of demonstrating our commitment to continuous quality improvement resulting in optimal outcomes and overall improvements in patient safety,” said David Miller, director of Safety, Quality and Accreditation Systems. 
Dr Abdul Azim Abdul Wahab Hussain, chief of Medical Staff said, “Increasing awareness of patient safety is critical and an essential component to helps us to continually enhance the quality and safety of the services we provide for the Qatar Community and beyond.”
“As well as sponsoring international experts to present at this year’s event and sharing the results of our clinical improvement initiatives in the plenary sessions, Al Ahli Hospital has supported a large number of doctors, nurses and allied health professionals to attend” said Claudine El-Araybi, director of Nursing.
