The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), represented by the training department of the shared services affairs, has launched a skills training programme for inspectors at the ministry, in partnership with the Community Service and Continuing Education Center at Qatar University. The programme will run till April 2020.

The MME has signed a partnership with Qatar University aimed at training and developing Qatari cadres in the field of judicial inspection and control.

Assistant undersecretary at the shared services affairs highlighted the close link between Qatar National Vision 2030 and the ministry's 2018-2022 strategy with regards to developing human resources.

“The programme is part of the ministry's support for human development as one of the four main pillars of Qatar's vision. The progarmme aims to develop work skills of inspectors to meet ministry's need for skilled manpower as well as upgrade educational and training services through partnership between the ministry and QU,” he said..

The training programme consists of five phases, the first of which began in September and the final phase will be completed by April 2020, with the training of 469 inspectors and observers.

The General Institute of Public Administration will calculate the training hours required for promoting employees.

The ministry said the training program consists of specialisation in fields such as wildlife, nature reserves, fisheries, radiation protection, industrial pollution control, human food control, public health and inspection of buildings and facilities.

The ministry said it aims to train 1,200 inspectors and observers in 2020 and 2021. (QNA)
