The Canadian embassy in Doha will be hosting a large group of Canadian universities and colleges on October 21-22.
In a press statement, the embassy said the aim of their visit is to build stronger linkages in the field of education between Canada and Qatar. The participating institutions will be promoting study opportunities in Canada as well as partnership opportunities between Canadian and Qatari education institutions.
During their visit to Doha, the Canadian institutions will connect with the country’s leading educational institutions, academies and public and private organisations.
The EduCanada will offer prospective students and parents in Qatar with the opportunity to learn about education options in Canada and to meet with a diverse mix of institutions from across Canada.
Questions related to the admission process, visas, programmes of study and campus life will be addressed.
“Canada consistently ranks as one of the best countries in the world to live, and our schools offer academic qualifications respected around the world. We are proud to say that the ‘warm and friendly’ stereotype about Canadians is true. When you come to Canada, you will find a welcoming country with a unique Canadian culture that embraces diversity. In addition, Canada is considered one of the safest countries in the world for international students,” Canadian ambassador Stefanie McCollum said.
Dr Deborah White, Dean and Professor, University of Calgary in Qatar, said: “The University of Calgary in Qatar is honoured to be the host venue for the upcoming EduCanada Universities Fair. A Canadian education is globally recognised for its quality and rigour. As a Canadian university in Doha offering a Nursing programme, we are proud to carry on this tradition of excellence.”
Interested students and parents are invited to participate in the public EduCanada Fair taking place on October 21 from 6pm to 9pm at the University of Calgary in Qatar (Al Rayyan).
