Qatar has become a member of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, the second largest parliamentary group in the world after the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
This came during the participation of HE the Shura Council Speaker Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud and his accompanying delegation in the first meeting of the Executive Council of the Assembly held in the Turkish city of Rize. Heads of delegations participating in the meeting welcomed Qatar's accession to the Assembly.
