Nobel peace prize winner Mohammad Yunus must givehimself up before November 7 after an arrest warrant was issuedfollowing a lawsuit filed by three former employees, the BangladeshiHigh Court ruled on Monday. A labour court in Dhaka had issued an arrest warrant for Yunus andtwo other executives of Grameen Communications after they failed toappear.Three plaintiffs have challenged the decision of GrameenCommunications to fire them after they say they tried to form a tradeunion.Yunus is the founder of the micro-lending Grameen Bank, which givesloans to entrepreneurs too poor for traditional bank loans, and wonthe Nobel Peace Prize in 2006.He lost a legal battle after the government of Prime Minister SheikhHasina removed him from the bank over retirement age regulations in2011.Grameen Communications, a not-for-profit information technology firm,is one of a number of companies under the Grameen umbrella founded byYunus.
