HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani on Thursday held official talks with Turkish Vice-President Fuat Oktay at the presidential palace in Ankara.

The talks centred on the strategic relations between the two countries and the prospects of further boosting them in different spheres.

The two sides also discussed key regional and international issues.

Members of the official delegation accompanying the Prime Minister and senior Turkish officials attended the talks.

The Prime Minister and the Turkish vice-president earlier held a bilateral meeting, where they discussed topics of mutual interest.

Sheikh Abdullah also met with Turkish Minister of Interior Suleyman Soylu at the Turkish Interior Ministry.

During the meeting, they discussed co-operation between the two countries and prospects of developing them in addition to a number of matters of mutual interest.

Following the meeting, the Prime Minister and the Turkish Interior Minister attended the signing of a Letter of Intent for co-operation in organising major events between the two governments.

Upon arrival at the Interior Ministry, the Prime Minister was accorded an official reception

Later the Qataris delegation attended a luncheon banquet hosted by Soylu. It was also attended by senior Turkish officials.

Also yesterday the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior met Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.

During the meeting, they reviewed the strategic co-operation between the two countries and ways of enhancing them, in addition to the latest regional and international developments.

Later in the day, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior visited the Turkish Parliament in Ankara, where he met Speaker Mustafa Sentop and several members of the Turkish Parliament.

During the meeting, they reviewed the existing relations between the two countries and the exchange of experiences in the legislative and parliamentary fields.
