QFZA is also showcasing its efforts in rolling out a wide range of smart infrastructure solutions within the free zones. These include intelligent traffic monitoring and street lighting, smart waste removal technologies, addressable advertising panels and more. On the sidelines of Qitcom, QFZA signed an MoU with the Ministry of Transport & Communications (MoTC) regarding Tasmu Digital Valley Initiative. The MoU aims at encouraging and attracting FDI in ICT sector as well as supporting technology companies interested in setting up operations in Qatar. The zones are already furnished with six-way telecommunications duct banks, wireless Internet access and fibre optic cable readiness in all plots, providing a strong base for the rapid expansion of new technologies.
