The British Council in partnership with HSBC hosted a ‘Welcome Back’ event for newly-returning UK graduates.
British ambassador Ajay Sharma was the guest of honour at the event attended by some 65 fresh graduates and UK alumni.
The event, a part of the Qatar-UK Alumni Network programme, provided a networking opportunity for graduates to learn from well-established UK alumni and build their professional network.
“The Qatar-UK Alumni Network programme enables our alumni to maintain strong connections to UK educational and cultural opportunities and build on their international experience. In Qatar the network provides them with support for their careers through networking, mentoring and professional development events,” said Sam Ayton, director, British Council Qatar.
HSBC chief operating officer, James Elwes said: “This is the second year that HSBC entered into a partnership with the British Council Qatar-UK Alumni. The Alumni network reflects our own diverse employee base and gives us a unique opportunity to network with UK graduates in Qatar.”
HSBC offers a wide range of careers in banking and finance as well as a successful graduate programme. The bank’s commitment to develop its Qatari talent reflects the country’s own commitment to talent growth through the Vision 2030.
