The Qatar Financial Centre’s (QFC) chief legal officer Nasser al-Taweel has figured in ‘The Legal 500’s ‘GC Powerlist: Middle East’, marking the third consecutive year that the QFC legal team has been mentioned in the list.
The list, which comprises 500 names, recognises influential in-house legal professionals working in the region for their contribution to the enhancement and commitment to best practice in the legal field.
For over 30 years, The Legal 500 has been analysing the capabilities of law firms across the world. The 2019 list has a particular focus to the in-house function, recognising corporate counsel that is driving the legal business forward.
“The QFC’s legal department collectively has worked very hard over the past few years to enhance and drive business forward within the region in the legal sphere, so recognition in the ‘GC Powerlist: Middle East 2019’ is testament to the depth and breadth of the exemplary work we do,” al-Taweel said.
Legal professionals selected for the list are made up of canvassed opinions from law firm partners and in-house counsel across the Middle East, to identify corporate counsel that have been instrumental in changing or forming opinions within their company or industry; developing brilliant technical solutions to complex issues; creating innovative structures to ensure that the in-house function is driving the business forward; or providing a business working model that other corporate counsel should follow.
Al-Taweel was featured in 2017, and the QFC legal team in 2018.
Al-Taweel: Exemplary work.
