The Joint Rain Emergency Committee is preparing to deal with the rainy season by holding preparatory meetings under the chairmanship of Safar Mubarak al-Shafi, Assistant Undersecretary for General Services Affairs at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), and with the participation of members of the authorities concerned.
This was tweeted by the MME on Wednesday.
The Qatar Met department had said in a report on Tuesday that unsettled weather, marked by rain and strong winds, was expected to affect the country from Friday noon until the end of next week.
The weather is expected to become cloudy intermittently and there is a chance of rain in most areas, ranging in intensity from moderate to heavy at times in some areas, the report states. The rain may become thundery occasionally, accompanied by strong winds exceeding 30 knots, the report states.
